  • Beirut, a crossroads between the Orient and the Occident. Controversial and conquered by many the greatest military commanders through the centuries. From this crossfire grew the famous Lebanese cuisine softly. A combination of Middle East and Far East ways of cooking, ingredients and spices and European kitchens sophistication and subtleties.

    Lebanese cuisine is characterized by its wealth of flavors – without being overly strong – and that it invites to pleasant company and community. This applies not least meze – the classic Lebanese side dishes that can be likened to a Swedish smorgasbord.

    When Beirut Café opened in Stockholm in 1999, as the first Lebanese restaurant in the Nordic region, we received a warm reception for these thousands of years of Oriental flavors. Since then a lot has happened.
